Configuration Steps

Perform the following configuration steps to the maintain the single cycle plan in SAP PM.

Step 1 : Execute t-code “IP41” in SAP command field as shown below image.

  • Maintenance plan : Leave this field as blank, as the SAP will generate a number for maintenance plan.
  • Maint. Plan cat. : Choose the appropriate maintenance plan category as per requirements from the drop down list.

Step 3 : On create maintenance plan : single cycle plan screen, update the following details.

  • Maintenance plan :Update the description of maintenance plan i.e. Oil filter change for every 50 days.
  • Cycle/ Unit : Choose the unit for maintenance plan i.e. d(days).
  • Cycle text : Update the description of cycle unit i.e. Operating days.

Reference Object

  • Functional location  : Update the functional location key that is required for work.
  • Equipment : Update the equipment key that is required for work.

Planning Date

  • Planning Plant : Update the planning plant for maintenance plan i.e. TKBL.
  • Order type : Update the order type in the given field.
  • Main Work Center : Update the work center key that is responsible for maintaining the functional location or equipment.
  • Priority : Update the priority of work.
  • Maintain planner group : Enter the respective planner group key on the relevant of functional location.
  • Task List : Now assign the task list by choose select task list icon.

Create Single Cycle Maintenance Plan in SAPStep 4 : Choose the option maintenance plan scheduling parameters options and update the all the required details for date determination, call control parameters and Scheduling indicator.

Click on save icon to save the configured maintenance plan. Now the start date screen will appear, choose no radio button (the start date will be specified during  scheduling) and press enter to continue.

  • Name : Enter the alpha numeric key that defines as strategy in SAP.
  • Description : Update the descriptive text of maintenance strategy i.e. Electric pumps perf. based H.
  • Scheduling indicator : Choose the appropriate unit, i.e. time.
  • Strategy unit : It defines as unit of time, choose Mon (month) or Yr (year).
  • Call horizon : In most cases 100% is used for call horizon. When an order is generated before a call is required, it is expressed as percentage of cycle length.
  • Shift factor for late completion : It is used to determine the impact of late completion of work. Update the percentage for late completion
  • Tolerance for late completion (%) : Update percentage of tolerance for late completion
  • Shift factor for early completion :It is used to determine the impact of early work completion, enter the percentage factor for early completion.
  • Tolerance for early completion (%) : Update the percentage of tolerance limit for early completion.
  • Factory Calendar : Leave this field as blank or choose the factory calendar as per requirements.

  • Unit : Unit for performance of maintenance task.

  • Cycle short text : Update the two characteristic key as cycle short text and it is used for assigning to task list.
  • Hierarchy : Enter the hierarchy level of maintenance package.
  • Hierarchy shot text : Short text of hierarchy.

Perform the following configuration steps to create the new general maintenance task list in SAP.

Step 1 : Execute t-code “IA05” in SAP command field and press enter to continue.

  • Group : Enter the task list group name that you like to create in SAP.
  • Profile : Enter the respective profile name, here we have selected PM01 (Plant Maintenance Profile)
  • Change number : Leave it as blank
  • Key Date :  Set it as current date.

  • Group : The group name PUMP is highest level of grouping task list.
  • Group Counter : This is the 2nd level of number for task list groups, where the each task list group will have a specific type of work. Update the descriptive text of group counter.
  • Planning Plant : Update the maintenance planning plant key.

Assignment to header section

  • Work centre :  Update the work center key or leave it as blank.
  • Usage :  Keep the usage field as 4 (plant maintenance).
  • Planner group : Update the planner group key or leave it as blank.
  • Status :  Keep the status as 4 that defines as task list is released for usage or choose other status if the task list is not yet ready for use.
  • System Condition : Leave the system condition as blank.
  • Maintenance strategy : Choose the respective maintenance strategy key from the drop down list as per the requirements of project or leave the field as blank.

Choose operation tab after you enter the required details.

Step 3 : On create general task operation overview screen, update the following details.

  • Ctrl : Update the control area key PMO1 (Plant maintenance – internal).
  • Description : Update the description of work.
  • Work : Time to complete the work.
  • Un.(Units) : Units of work, it will be automatically filled by SAP system.
