Duplicate a Page in WordPress

Duplicating a page in WordPress can save time when you need a similar layout or content structure for another page.

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of duplicating a page in WordPress using plugins and manual methods.

Method 1: Using a Plugin

Step 1: Install and Activate the Plugin

Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard and navigate to Plugins > Add New.

In the search bar, type Duplicate Page and install the plugin that has more active installations and ratings.

After installation, click Activate.

Step 2: Configure the Plugin Settings

Once the plugin is activated, go to Settings > Duplicate Page to configure the settings. Choose options like the post status of the duplicate (Draft, Published, etc.) and click Save Changes.

Step 3: Duplicate the Page

Navigate to Pages in the WordPress admin menu. Hover over the page you want to duplicate, and you’ll see a Duplicate This option. Click it, and a duplicate of the page will be created as per the settings you configured.

Method 2: Manual Duplication

In the editor, select all the content and copy it (Ctrl+C or Command+C).

Step 2: Create a New Page

Go to Pages > Add New. This will open a new page editor.

Step 3: Paste the Content

In the new page editor, paste the copied content (Ctrl+V or Command+V). Edit the title and make any necessary adjustments to the content or layout.

Step 4: Publish the Page

Once you’ve finalized the content, click Publish to make the duplicate page live. Alternatively, you can save it as a draft for future editing.

Conclusion

Duplicating a page in WordPress is a simple task, whether you choose to use a plugin or do it manually. The plugin method is quicker and more efficient, especially for large-scale duplication. However, the manual method provides flexibility for one-off duplications. Choose the method that best suits your needs.
